Coach Smith is originally from Ada, Oklahoma where he was an avid high school wrestler. He attended Oklahoma State University and was part of the 1994 NCAA National Championship Wrestling Team. Smith was the assistant coach at Father Ryan high school (Nashville) from 2007-2013 before taking the helm at Brentwood.
