Granzow, Briningstool named Co-MVPs of Region 6-6A

Granzow, a 6-foot-3 quarterback, guided the Bruins to the school's second-ever Class 6A championship game and a third consecutive region title this year. He set school records for touchdowns passes in a season (28), touchdowns in back-to-back games (11), rushing touchdowns in a game (5), points scored in a season (276), and concluded his career with 106 total touchdowns at Brentwood.

Granzow is an Auburn baseball signee.

 

Briningstool, a 6-6 tight end and linebacker this year for the Raptors, was honored as a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football finalist this week as well. He concluded his Ravenwood career with 111 receptions for 1,955 yards and 23 touchdowns. Briningstool also closed with 38 tackles, seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

Briningstool is a Clemson football signee.

Other region awards include Independence's Jaxson Campbell being named the Offensive Player of the Year and Brentwood's Spencer Rich garnering the Defensive Player of the Year nod.

Campbell closed with 34 total touchdowns to lead the Eagles. He completed 132-of-214 passes for 1,976 yards with 20 TDs and just two interceptions in his first season under center and also rushed for 721 yards on 116 carries with 14 scores.

Campbell committed to Navy football this week.

Rich was a workhorse for the Brentwood defense and closed with the school single-season sack record with seven this year. He ended the 2020 season with 122 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, a blocked punt and a blocked PAT.

Rich announced his commitment to Memphis football this week.

The Lineman of the Year is Fisher Anderson of Franklin, while Centennial's Carter Potts (Kicker of the Year) and Indy's Cooper Allen (Punter of the Year) were also recognized.
