Troy Crane whose hometown is Red Bay, Alabama begins his second year as Assistant Coach and Physical Education Teacher at Brentwood High School.
Crane spent the last 19 years as a basketball coach at Oakland High School, football and basketball coach at Wilson Central High School, 2 years as an assistant football coach at Cumberland University, and 2 years as Head Football Coach at Lebanon High School. As Coach Troy Bonds' assistant at Wilson Central and Oakland, they reached the Final 4 in 2004, the Elite 8 in 2005, the Sweet 16 in 2008, the Elite 8 in 2011, the Elite 8 in 2017, and the Elite 8 in 2019.
Prior to his time at Oakland and Wilson Central Coach Crane was an assistant football coach at Russellville High School in Russellville, Ala., as well as the boys’ basketball coach for seventh and eighth grades and the assistant high school boys’ coach 1999-2002.
Crane received his Bachelor’s in Physical Education and Master’s in Health Education from University of North Alabama, and his Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Tech.
Coach Crane lives in Mt. Juliet and is married to Tammy Ricketts Crane who is from Mt. Juliet and a 26-year veteran Teacher/Coach/Athletic Director/ and now serves as the Wilson County Schools Attendance Coordinator. Coach Crane has two step-daughters’ Riley (17) and Reese (15).
In his free time he enjoys working his Real Estate Business and Fireworks Stores in Florence, Alabama; and watching his daughters’ softball and volleyball games.
